It takes risk and faith to do what we are called to do.Hebrews 11
Before Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father he commissioned us, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 and "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8.
In a world where most people didn't travel more then 30 miles from their home, Jesus commissioned His disciples with a crazy, risky and stupid dream. To the ends of the earth? To all nations, serious? How in the world were they going to accomplish that?
With hindsight, we know how possible Jesus' dream was. We've seen what God has done with Jesus' willing disciples, but when the disciples first heard Jesus, their first response was probably, "this guy is nuts." But they trusted His impossible dream anyways and did what they were called to do.
Ridgepoint is called to do something stupid, nuts, crazy, and in most peoples eyes just dumb. But we are called by our Creator to introduce people to Jesus and that is exactly what we are going to do.
Following Christ is risky business. It will stretch your faith in enormous was. But that is what Christianity is all about. Going into all the world, doing crazy things God asks us and trusting that His plan is perfect.
