Church Planting: Learning from Apple (1 of 2)

After visiting the Apple Store I left with a couple of understandings about ministry and abilities to serve people better.

All companies can improve their business and Apple is no exception. There could have been a lot of things going wrong. I just didn’t see them.

One of the things that Apple Stores do is on-the-spot check out. Let me explain. You have found your purchases grab any of MANY Apple employees walking around and ask to check out. They pull out this nifty PDA looking thing and scan your item. If you are paying my credit card they can help you right there in the middle of the store. You give them a card and they run on their PDA and print or email a receipt to you. You’re done. That is it. No waiting in lines. Registration f
or event at your church will never be the same.

Granted this checkout isn’t cheap, but what we church people can walk away with…Think about our customer and how can we make their experience better then they could of imagined themselves?

I'm sure a lot of Churches would love this idea for tithing. What if they passed this around instead of the offering plate? hmmm Interesting idea.

That's funny. Don't know how well that would work, but it's an idea. Then you would have people tithing with their credit cards and putting God on their debt. LOL.
