Need Some Help

Two books I think every Christian should read: Plastic Jesusby Eric Sandras and In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Dayby Mark Batterson. There are a lot of great books out there that Christian should probably read, but these are the two that I'm telling people to read. As I've journeyed as a believer I've had a couple of milestones of when God changed my heart and brought me to a place closer to Him. These books have helped in my most recent milestones. As God has been teaching me what it really means to follow-Christ, He has used these books to stretch my thinking.

If you haven't read them, go to your local bookstore or Amazon today and purchase them.

Seriously, do it. Then start reading them and pray the follow prayer: "God, teach me truth about you. Root me in your words, because it cuts through bone and marrow, straight to the heart. Open my mind to things I haven't understood or thought about before. Let me see you as you really are." (Disclaimer: These books aren't truth. God's word is the only truth. Please don't read into the above prayer and think I'm staying something else.)

This is where I need the help. I have only so much of a personal budget to buy these books to give to people. I gift, I guess, I get from my mother. I never just buy one copy of a book, but five, because I want people to be learners. The best part of giving someone a book with personal investment in giving that book is they feel obligated to read the book; to not let the person that gave them that book down.

When you go purchase the book, buy five. Keep one to read for yourself, keep one for a gift to give to someone else and send the rest my way, so I can do the same. Or you can also give through PayPal and Ridge Point can purchase books for people. Ridge Point is about getting people to meet Jesus and to meet with Him everyday. This is a way for us to equip them to do just that. Whether they are apart of our church or another. We want to see people growing towards Christ.

Josh - nice blog. Being a Christian is the ONLY way to go! My wife and I are Christians, too and we've been getting into the blog world a bit. We just started a fun one (our others are just for family/friends of what we've been up to). Check our fun one out if you wish. Thanks for sharing your faith. ~ Bob
